BASF Beauty Care Solutions (BCS) has reached the first milestone in its Responsibly Active program for cosmetic bioactives, marking the completion of major targets for 2025.

Düsseldorf – July 16, 2026 – BASF has inaugurated a new plant in Düsseldorf, Germany, to produce specialty emollients, particularly for skin care and sun protection products.

BASF is continuously advancing the responsible sourcing of renewable raw materials in its Care Chemicals division. The Responsible Sourcing Report 2025 shows how the company is strengthening environmental and social standards along global supply chains while supporting customers in their green transformation.

BASF and Bota Biosciences jointly announced the market launch of BASF’s SkinNexus™ Collag3n. This 100% human-identical recombinant Collagen III fragment was developed in collaboration between the two companies and is being commercialized by BASF for the personal care market.

BASF is expanding its certified compostable ecovio^® portfolio with new grades that meet increasing recycling needs of flexible barrier packaging. The extended portfolio enables manufacturers of flexible packaging and brand owners to tailor barrier performance and end-of-life options like organics or paper recycling according to application functionalities, processing technologies and regulatory frameworks.
